Fastpoint Games / RotoHog hits the deadpool

From the fastpoint website:

"Fastpoint Games is winding down all of our Fastpoint Games branded fantasy sports games over the next 45 days. Thank you to our loyal customers, our sincerest apologies. We will be refunding all of your purchases for cash league entrance and purchased trades. These refunds will be in the same currency that they were purchased. If you made the purchase in Facebook credits, you will be refunded in Facebook credits."

Although there was little announcement, the celebrity-CEO of Fastpoint Games, Kelly Perdew, listed October of 2011 his last month with the firm after 3.5 years: http://www.linkedin.com/in/kellyperdew

Our Take:

When the VC capital starts to run out, you better have revenues to replace it. This is another hit to the fantasy sports industry, which has shown very little growth from a business investment standpoint over the past few years. Unfortunately, we won't get to hear why Fastpoint Games failed as no one in the media seemed to be paying enough attention when the firm was still alive to care when it closed.
